The photo stays tied to that booking episode. Charges on the same card describe allegations recorded at booking, not convictions. Kansas open-records law supplies the access framework, but it does not make every photo or investigative file automatically open in every circumstance. K.S.A. 45-217 excludes jail and detention inmate rosters from its definition of criminal-investigation records. Specific material may still be withheld under K.S.A. 45-221 or another rule. Commercial aggregators and search caches may carry a copy, but their image, identity match, and status may be wrong or old. They are discovery leads only. No commercial mugshot publisher or pay-to-remove service is endorsed or linked.

Bourbon County Released List Photos

The strongest local channel is the sheriff's Released filter sorted by release time. The observed cards included a thumbnail, displayed name, booking number, age, release date and time, booking date and time, charges, bond, and a profile link. The sheriff states that the view covers people released within the last 48 hours. Once that window passes, the public card or profile may disappear even though the agency record still exists.

The thumbnail identifies the image as part of a booking record. Pair it with the unique booking number and confirm the court outcome separately.

The county's publication choice is distinctive. Booking thumbnails remain on the Released list rather than appearing only beside people still housed at the jail. Captions must therefore say “booking photo” and “charges recorded at booking.” A release timestamp does not convert an allegation into a conviction, and it does not reveal whether the person went home or transferred to another agency.

The office publishes no fixed local photo fee or retention schedule, so request a cost estimate rather than inventing a price.

1. Identify the person by full name and, when known, date of birth, booking date, and booking number. The booking number helps distinguish repeat admissions.
2. Ask for the booking photograph tied to that exact booking and the booking/release sheet. Request the release time, reason or type, authority, and destination if a transfer occurred.
3. Send the request through the official Evidence/Records Custodian route. A written request creates a clear scope.
4. Ask for an estimate before fees exceed a limit you choose. KORA permits reasonable actual costs, but no flat Bourbon County photo charge was found.
5. If material is withheld, ask for the statutory basis and all reasonably segregable open portions. Obtain court orders from the court, not the sheriff.

KORA generally requires action on a request as soon as possible, and no later than the end of the third business day the custodian must provide the record, deny the request, or explain the delay. That rule is not a promise that all requested records will be produced within three business days.

The sheriff promotes an official mobile app for Apple and Android. It is a legitimate agency access point, but the public landing page does not specify whether the current app reproduces the Released filter, thumbnails, profile photos, or release alerts. Mobile users may test the installed version, yet no one should promise an app-only photo or a fixed release feature without seeing it in the current build.

The app is distinct from Kansas VINELink. VINELink is the documented specific-person county-jail custody-notification route; it should not be described as the sheriff app's photo or release-alert feature.

Kansas Photos After Bourbon Release

If a Bourbon County detainee transfers to KDOC, search KASPER. Its offender details commonly include a photograph, identifying data, status, admission and release information, sentence information, and supervision fields. That image is a KDOC offender photograph. It may not match the county booking image or the date of local release. KASPER also does not cover every county arrestee.

The KBI Kansas Offender Registry is narrower still. It may contain a photograph for a person required to register, but most released people are not registrants. An absence from that registry proves neither continued custody nor any broad conclusion about a person's record. Use it only for its stated statutory scope.

Bourbon County Release Photo Context

Sheriff press releases and local news may publish an image in an exceptional arrest, escape, transfer, or public-safety story. They are not systematic release archives. A news photo may depict an earlier arrest and remain online after the custody and court status changes. Read the date and caption, then verify the booking, release, and disposition with the sheriff and court.

Search caches and third-party pages add more risk. A copy may outlive the official rolling display, attach to the wrong person, omit an expungement, or monetize removal. Do not pay a service based on a claim that it controls the official record. For an official correction, contact the office that created the record. For a copied news item, use that publisher's correction policy and provide the current official order when relevant.

Bourbon County Mugshot Expungement

Release and expungement are separate. K.S.A. 21-6614 allows petitions for eligible convictions or diversions after the applicable waiting period measured from sentence satisfaction or discharge, with longer periods and exclusions for some cases. K.S.A. 22-2410 separately addresses arrest-record expungement, including mistaken identity. Time alone does not expunge a record; a court order is required.

An expungement can change an official custodian's disclosure duty and may remove a case from public portal results. A cached image or copied article may still conflict with the lawful current record. Provide the expungement order to the sheriff custodian or other publisher and ask for review. No verified general Kansas anti-pay-to-remove mugshot statute was found in the research, so no such protection should be promised.

Verify Bourbon County Photo Records

Start with the booking number. Match it to the release timestamp and profile. Then inspect the Bourbon County court docket for the disposition and later orders. If the person moved to state custody, compare KASPER while labeling its image as a KDOC photo. If a source lacks the booking number, date, or clear agency attribution, treat the match as uncertain.

Correct Bourbon County Booking Photos

Bourbon County publishes no separate photo-error or roster-correction form. Send a focused request to the Evidence/Records Custodian instead. Identify the exact booking number, explain whether the disputed item is the image, name, release field, or booking association, and attach the relevant court order when it supports the correction. Do not send unrelated personal information. The county can review its booking record, but it cannot edit a KASPER photograph or a court judgment.

For a KASPER error, KDOC directs public corrections to kdoc_pub@ks.gov. Include the KDOC number and exact field at issue. For an official registry image, use the registry agency's correction route. A third-party copy requires a separate request to that publisher, supported by the corrected official record. Keeping each request with the record owner avoids a false assumption that one agency can remove every copy.

A correction also needs the right scope. Replacing an image attached to the wrong booking differs from restricting disclosure after an expungement. State the requested action plainly and preserve the custodian's written response. If the official record changes, use that response when asking a news archive or cache to review its copy.
